15 Toys that will make your kids Smarter

by-Rajat Mehta| 2/01/18

Ages

5-12

Have you ever looked at the face of children when they try to solve any puzzle or when they try to kick a ball into the goal? That concentration on their face shows, it’s not only fun and games. It is more than that, it’s the training of their minds and toys are a tool for that.

Children are born with a innate desire to learn. However, learning is not just restricted to what is taught by the parents. The environment in which the child grows have a direct impact on learning. Children are always curious to know about the environment they are living in. Kids are natural learners and anything that interests them will teach them something. Child development starts at a very young age – a baby realises that if they touch their cot toys they move or make a sound, and they learn cause and effect – touch the toy there and it squeaks. Older children start to develop concepts and have their own ideas as they meet and interact with new people and get accustomed to different things about the world around them.

Kids don’t think like adults, for them everything is new and they are always curious. All the time they learn. Doctors also agree that overall development of a kid’s brain can be done by making them do concentration activities but in a fun way. Kids with age of 6 or more often forget what they did an hour ago. This shows that their memory has been growing at a slow rate and this is the best time to introduce them to memory and concentration-enhancing toys. At 6 or more, kids are in schools and most of the time they spend gathering information. Their brains work all that time to learn new things. But this learning process might be too hard for them. So rather than making them recall all those things that they learned in the school, let them explore and learn through toys/gadgets. It will reduce the stress from their little minds and they will learn with fun.

At the end of the day, all that a parent wants is that the child doesn’t lose it’s innocence, curiosity and happiness in the process of educating them.
Give them wings and they will learn to fly on their own.

Fact-book

  • The brain makes the most connections among its cells before your child turns 10.
